Thank you for visiting my 2018 Promise Walk for Preeclampsia fundraising page.
I was diagnosed at 22 weeks and 2 days with severe preeclampsia. I went to the hospital the evening of February 4th, 2018 just not feeling right. My blood pressure was sky high, liver enzymes were high and my platelets were dropping quickly. They admitted me that night and told me I would stay until I delivered my sweet Oliver. I was on bp meds and a few other things to help normalize things and keep Oliver in as long as we could. Things were up and down for 2 weeks but on February 16th, 2018 they took me for a ultrasound and Oliver wasn’t moving . About 30 mins of trying to get him to move the dr. came in and said we have to get him out as soon as possible. They rushed me straight to surgery and did an emergency c-section. They had to rush Oliver to another room and get him on a breathing machine and stabilize him as much as they could to transport him to nicu. I got to meet him for about 1 minute before he left and they even allowed me to touch his little hand through his incubator, I couldn’t believe how tiny my little guy was. My husband went and stayed with Oliver while I was trying to recover some from the c-section and being on magnesium. I finally was up to going and seeing Oliver, so they gave me a pass on Sunday February 18th to go to nicu and visit. When I went things were starting to become very touch and go. I decided I wanted to be released from the hospital and go back and stay with my husband and Oliver. That was one of the hardest but yet best moments of my life. I will never forget the time I got to spend with him. He was absolutely the most perfect little baby I’ve ever seen. Early Monday February 19th, 2018 they asked if I would like to hold him for the first time and of coarse I said yes. I held my little Oliver through it all. He was such a strong little guy. I will forever miss him and my life will never be the same. I think of him every second of every day.
