Thank you for visiting my 2017 Promise Walk for Preeclampsia fundraising page.
I am grateful for your donations and for your help in spreading the word about preeclampsia. This something near and dear to my heart : ) Sweet Eliana Pearl was born five weeks premature due to my preeclampsia, which turned into postpartum preeclampsia. Our little boo-boo was born at 35 weeks weighing 5 lbs. 1oz. and 19 inches. Thankfully due to the excellent care both Eliana and I received at UPMC Mercy, along with the prenatal care from my doctors, both mama and Ellie were able to go home three days later, WITH a 4 lb. 9 oz. sweet girl. Truly a special little baby, who is a healthy and growing, strong-willed and loving toddler! Miss Eliana is, in-fact, without a doubt - the Boss Lady :)
My road with preeclampsia, however, didn't end there, as I developed postpartum preeclampsia about ten days later. Over the next year I realized you're more predisposed to things like metabolic syndrome, eye problems, and sleep apnea, just to name a few. Being in the care of great doctors in a great medical community has made a difference!
Many people don't know about preeclampsia or the lifelong effects. My goal is to help our community raise funds and awareness and save the lives of moms and babies!
Please make a donation to support our efforts to fund education and research into this life-threatening disorder of pregnancy. Team Boss Lady would love to walkers. If you'd like to join us on July 15, 2017 - click Join Our Team!! We'll see you at the North Park Boathouse!
