Thank you for visiting my 2018 Promise Walk for Preeclampsia Team Kabir fundraising page!
Why do I volunteer and participate in the Promise Walk each year?
In 2010, I suffered from a pregnancy complication called preeclampsia. Though its cause is unknown, preeclampsia affects seven to 10 percent of pregnant women and it can range from very mild to a life-threatening condition for both mother and baby. Unfortunately, my condition was severe and I delivered my son, Kabir, at 28 weeks. He weighed only two pounds and spent the first two months fighting for his life. Today, he is an energetic and happy seven year old.
To help find a cure to preeclampsia, I volunteer for the Preeclampsia Foundation. Each year, I manage a Team Kabir that includes committed family and friends who run, walk, or volunteer at our annual fundraiser, The Promise Walk and 5 K Run. Our team raises money for awareness, education, and research. This cause means the world to me and my family and that’s why I volunteer for the Preeclampsia Foundation!
I am grateful for your donations and for your help in spreading the word about preeclampsia. My goal is to help our community raise funds and awareness and save the lives of moms and babies!
Please make a donation to support our efforts to fund education and research into this life-threatening disorder of pregnancy.
Thank you for your support,
