I would be honored if you would consider riding with me on April 23rd in honor of the memory of my grandson Emery whose life was cut short due to a disorder called Preeclampsia.
The full ride will be a 20 mile mountain bike ride but there are shorter distances for those that would like to make a shorter ride. Last year’s ride was the first where I had others ride with me and I was not prepared to publicize it very well. This year I am looking to expand the participants so if you would, please feel free to share this with any of your friends that also mountain bike.
I would like to thank those of you that rode last year. It meant a lot to me and to my family. I think all that rode would agree that it wasa lot of fun! Last year we provided shirts for all of the riders. It was a heartwarming site to see all of the riders wearing Emery's shirt as we rode. With the expanded riders this year, we will be selling the new "3rd annual" version of the shirts for $28 each. All of the proceeds will be going to the Preeclampsia Foundation in Emery’s honor. If you are not able to participate on the ride, you can still order a shirt.
Lastly, I have worked with the Preeclampsia Foundation to create a fundraiser in Emery's honor in order to (1) help raise awareness of this disorder that leads to 500,000 infant deaths each year, (2) assist with funding further research of the disorder and (3) help Emery's short life positively impact others’ lives as much as he has impacted our own. If you would like to make a donation in Emery’s honor, please visit Emery’s team home page http://promisewalk.org/
I never had the opportunity to meet my grandson Emery yet I still think of him every day and I hold him near and dear to my heart. I would be honored if you would consider riding with me this year. Our ride this year will once again start and end at Cook's Corner where after our ride we can listen to music as we quench our thirst and have a bite to eat.
Thanks in advance for considering riding with me in honor of Emery.
