Thank you for visiting my 2018 Promise Walk for Preeclampsia fundraising page. We are so excited to be participating in our 5th walk!
I am grateful for your donations and for your help in spreading the word about preeclampsia. My goal is to help our community raise funds and awareness and save the lives of moms and babies!
Please make a donation to support our efforts to fund education and research into this life-threatening disorder of pregnancy.
In 2013 I was just minding my own business being 35 weeks pregnant when suddenly something felt terribly wrong. I tried meds, lots of water, sleeping it off, but nothing was helping. On a friend's advice I went to have my blood pressure checked, and it was 210/102. Within hours, I was on magnesium sulfate and being induced- all on my 32nd birthday. 40 hours later, our daughter Isla arrived at 4 lbs 3oz. She was taken to the NICU where she stayed for 15 days. We are so incredibly lucky. I found out that I had severe Preeclampsia and if I had waited any longer, the outcome would have been very different for both of us.
3 years later, we had a scare again with Gestational Hypertension, but my MFM and OB had a plan to induce at 37 weeks, and our son August was born weighing 4 lbs 10oz with no NICU time!
