Remembering Charles Michael

Thank you for visiting my 2016 Promise Walk for Preeclampsia fundraising page.

I am grateful for your donations and for your help in spreading the word about preeclampsia. My goal is to help our community raise funds and awareness and save the lives of moms and babies!

Please make a donation to support our efforts to fund education and research into this life-threatening disorder of pregnancy.

On January 4, 2015 I gave birth to my stillborn son Charles Michael at 28 weeks gestation. I lost my son to very severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome that almost cost me my life too. That was the worst day of my husband and my life. We buried our child 2 weeks after that. I can still remember his tiny coffin. He was buried with my grandparents and great grandparents. I went through a lot with the lost of my son. So many people told me to get over his death but no one understands that a parent that loses their child will ever get over it. You live with that grief everyday of your life.

On November 12, 2016 I gave birth to my rainbow son Charles Alexander. That was the happiest day of my life. He will never replace my other son just like no one will ever replace him. He has helped me a lot with my grief although I still feel it to this day. I want other people to be aware of this terrible disease and I hope a cure can be found. No one should ever have to bury their child.

Our team is grateful for your donations and for your help in spreading the word.
