Welcome to our 2017 Promise Walk for Preeclampsia Team Page

Thank you for visiting our team page. We will be walking on May 20th in Atlanta, Georgia in order to raise preeclampsia awareness. Our team has personally been affected by preeclampsia, and we our excited to be a part of something close to our hearts.

Our Story

In March 2015 I found out I was pregnant, the pregnancy was pretty normal up until the very last month. In December I woke up one morning not feeling well, I went to the doctor and was admitted to the hospital in Vidalia, GA. From there I was sent to Macon, GA once I arrived in Macon I was stable enough to be sent home. I was sent home on bed rest. A few days after arriving home I began to feel bad again, and once again went to the doctor. I was then admitted in to the hospital in Vidalia, GA and wouldn't leave the hospital again until our precious daughter was born. I was sent to Savannah, GA and remained in the hospital there for almost two weeks. During the time I was at the hospital I was hooked up to a magnesium drip, and had to be given blood pressure medications via IV. Kennedy Rae Williamson was born on December 24th, 2015 at 6:18 PM she weighed 4lbs 14 ozs and through the grace  of GOD was perfect! She was so tiny, but perfect. She was able to stay with us, and never had to spend time in the NICU. We are lucky but not everyone makes it out as lucky as us. Unfortunately my battle was not over. Once the epidural wore off my blood pressure went back up and I had to remain hooked up to magnesium. On Monday, December 28th, I was able to go home. I was on three different blood pressure medicines. My journey is not over, because I still suffer from blood pressure issues, and will always have underlying health issues due to my preeclampsia but together we can create awareness and raise money for research to prevent and protect future generations like my precious Kennedy.

Our Mission

We have set a team goal of $1000.00 every cent counts.

Our mission is to raise money and to promote awareness. We want to make sure that future generations have a fighting chance against preeclampsia, HELLP, and other pregnancy related hypertension disorders. These are long term, life altering issues that affect many women and their unborn child every day. We want you to KNOW the symptoms, and KNOW when to seek medical treatment.

This beautiful girl is why I walk.
